Orange SPV M600: Smaller and Faster.

Following the success of the Orange SPV M500, next in line, the M600 is a step closer to merge the two separate worlds of PDA and mobile phone. The dimensions of the Orange SPV M600 are a lot closer to a mobile phone and is definitely too small for a PDA. Great thing is that it doesn't look like a 'big, weird thing' when you make and receive calls however this convenience comes at the cost of the keypad which is compensated by soft keyboard and handwriting recognition tools.

The deep black soft-touch coated plastic that looks like rubber with chrome accents creates a subtle and sophisticated combination. Most of the front is occupied by the 2.8-inch QVGA high resolution, touch-sensitive display. Shiny dedicated call keys and the joystick keeps the design to a bare minimum. Unlike other PDAs, the M600 can be used with one hand.

Orange SPV M600 comes pre-installed with Windows Mobile 5.0 backed up by 200MHz OMAP CPU, which surprisingly is faster than expected. M600 version of Window Mobile newly included the ClearVue PDF reader and the PV-Player for watching video, a Zip file manager and voice control. Mobile versions of MS Office application gets your job done on the go, however, PowerPoint presentations can only be viewed, not created.

The 2.0 megapixel camera with macro lens is a huge step toward traditional smartphone territory. Apart from high quality pictures, video clips could also be captured. The music player with MP3, WMA and WMA DRM support plays your preferred tune with good clarity on the speakers and the headphones. Orange SPV M600 quotes a total memory of 128Mb out of which 43 Mb are usable, and is expandable with memory card.

The handset supports Quad-band GSM as well as Wi-Fi 802.11b apart from EDGE. The USB connectivity with charging support and Bluetooth for dial-up networking and stereo headphones makes data transfer and synchronization as quick as lightning.

All in all, the Orange SPV M600 is pretty strong Mobile office device and is very convenient to use and carry.
