Xiamen (厦门) is a coastal sub-provincial city located between 11804´ east longitude and 2426´ north latitude in southeastern Fujian province, China. Xiamen's geography is looking out to the Taiwan Strait and borders the cities of Quanzhou and Zhangzhou to the north and south respectively.
The local dialect in Xiamen, known as minnanyu, is nearly identical to the dialect spoken in Taiwan, and the nearest Taiwanese-controlled islands - Matsu and Quemoy (Kinmen) - are just a couple of kilometers (a mile, or so) off shore from Xiamen.
Xiamen is one of the ultimate attractive city in China as it was recently voted China's cleanest city and with many attractions for the tourists such as Zhongshan road, The night markets, Public parks, Yuandang lake, Bai Lu Zhou Park, Nanputuo Temple, Gulangyu Island (Piano Island), Hulishan Battery and Jimei etc. Xiamen surrounded by spectacular scenery and pleasant tree-lined beaches.
